RTE shortlisted for IBC 2013 Innovation Award:
a project managed by MJO Broadcast for TMD & Eurotek
Irish national broadcaster Raidio Teilifis Eireann (RTE) has been shortlisted for the IBC 2013 Innovation Awards, which are presented to those who have brought together the technology partners and collaborators to realize a creative, commercial or technical goal.
RTE has been nominated in the content management category for its newly deployed file-based infrastructure - FAST (File Acquisition Server Technology) – that allows users to create and control their own automated workflows. The project, managed by MJO Broadcast on behalf of TMD and systems integrator Eurotek, was successfully delivered this summer.
The FAST project at RTÉ is uniquely innovative in terms of how it presents the workflow design capability to the users. Workflows are not hard-coded into the system; rather TMD Mediaflex allows users to assemble their own pre-sets and routines, and build them into the required workflows themselves.
To ensure that RTÉ gets the maximum benefit from this, we first installed a small training and development system that proved the concepts, allowed for workflow development, and successfully got all users engaged with FAST to simplify implementation, thereby de-risking the whole project.
The winners will be announced during the IBC Awards Ceremony, Sunday, Sept. 15, in Amsterdam.
Best of luck to RTE from Team MJO!
